Launched through its My QLD Holiday (MQH) brand in partnership with Tourism & Events Queensland, Whitsundays Tourism, Tourism Tropical North Queensland and Townsville Enterprise, the campaign will see $50 from selected packages donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) North Queensland Appeal.

Sparked by the drive to make a difference and positive impact in affected communities, the campaign will boost tourism by delivering huge exposure for key regions and travel operators in North Queensland, engaging the domestic market and influencing potential holidaymakers through ITG’s exclusive distribution network and unique approach to travel marketing.

With premium resorts contracted across Tropical North Queensland, Whitsundays, Townsville and Magnetic Island, consumers will have a choice of over 45 exclusive holiday packages bursting with unbeatable value including flights, accommodation and bonus extras that can’t be found anywhere else. Each offer is designed to showcase Queensland’s natural beauty and enhance guests’ overall holiday experience with the inclusion of local tours and adventure experiences unique to each region. Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones said the campaign would benefit communities across North Queensland.

“The Queensland Government is right behind North Queensland’s tourism industry in supporting their recovery from this weather event, with this campaign part of a $1 million package to drive visitors to Townsville, Tropical North Queensland and the Whitsundays,” Ms Jones said.

“Supporting our tourism industry means supporting these local economies and local jobs, and I know how important tourism is right across North Queensland.”

The April to June campaign will promote North Queensland and the tropical coast to over 10 million Australians, amplifying exposure through a multi-channelled initiative under My QLD Holiday and ITG’s exclusive distribution partnership network with leading brands Flight Centre Exclusives and 7travel. Local Queenslander and My QLD Holiday brand ambassador Natalie Gruzlewski adds a familiar face to the campaign appearing across all MQH activity and a dedicated video filmed in Queensland. With 25 of the regions most iconic resorts onboard, the initiative highlights 2019 is the perfect opportunity to discover everything Queensland has to offer as a thriving and vibrant holiday destination for both domestic and international travellers.
